Michel Martelly, aka Sweet Micky, an icon in Haitian music, started a personal endeavor 17 years ago with his wife and children and along the years recruited some of his friends, to help in social contribution activities. Due to his immense popularity and the growing number of contributions, the “personal endeavor” became a small movement and introduced a need to create and formalize an actual foundation. What began as a family initiative, led to the creation, in September 2008, of Fondation Rose et Blanc (FREB).

FREB decided to unite its determination and knowledge with existing reliable government, NGO and humanitarian organizations in Haiti. Established as a 501 (c)(3) organization, FREB’s goals are to improve the social, health and economic conditions of Haitians.

Michel has shown the world that his musical talent is a continuous means toward a very positive goal while spending his time in helping those in need.
